Gardening Club

The Beverly Hills North Gardening Club has been working hard to build the garden up from six to 16 beds. This has meant students have been tasting and selling a variety of fruit and vegetables including: watermelon, strawberries, tomatoes, silver beet, garlic, beans, peas, carrots, beetroot and different types of lettuce. They have also kept their pet worms well fed with fruit scraps. The children are now waiting patiently for future harvests of passionfruit, rhubarb, asparagus, mango, banana, guava and pomegranate that can hopefully be harvested in the coming years. A recent addition to the garden is a hive of native stingless bees Trigona Carbonaria which will complement some of the indigenous bush foods we already have.
