Public Speaking
Public speaking is taught from K-6 as part of the regular English syllabus to improve student confidence, enhance self-esteem and develop oracy skills.  A highlight of the year is the Public Speaking Competition, which culminats in finals for all stages. All students prepare a speech as part of their work in English to present to their peers. From these speeches students are selected to participate in the school finals for each stage. The successful students at this level proceed to the Zone and District competitions held in the Bankstown/East Hills DistrictA feature of the Public Speaking calendar is the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition. This competition aims to heighten awareness of multicultural issues among primary school students at the same time as developing their public speaking skills.
